In mid 80's, amidst challenges and uncertainties, Akbarali Nathani embarked on a journey from Gujarat to Bangalore, driven by a singular dream to create something remarkable. With little more than his unwavering resolve, he established a humble provision store in the heart of Bangalore. Despite the initial hurdles of language barriers and unfamiliarity with the local market, he persevered, laying the foundation for what would soon become a pioneering venture. Recognizing the need for adaptation and evolution, Akbarali transitioned from the provision business to the realm of papad manufacturing. In 1989, he took a bold leap and established the first-ever unfried papad factory in Bangalore, locally known as "Boti." However, the road to success was fraught with challenges. Initial setbacks and operational complexities threatened the very existence of the venture. Yet, with the invaluable support of mentors and the unwavering dedication of his wife, Zareena Nathani, Akbarali pressed forward. Through sheer determination and a commitment to excellence, Nathani Products emerged as the epitome of quality and taste in the region. As competitors faltered, we stood tall, becoming the sole purveyor of authentic papads in Bangalore. The relentless pursuit of perfection led us to embrace automation, streamlining our operations and setting new benchmarks for efficiency. In 1998, tragedy struck when Akbarali suffered a debilitating injury in a factory accident and lost is right hand in the machine. Despite the adversity, his indomitable spirit prevailed, inspiring all who knew him. With resilience and fortitude, he navigated through adversity, emerging stronger and more determined than ever. As the years passed, the legacy of Nathani Products flourished, expanding beyond wholesale distribution to retail outlets. In 2001, under the stewardship of Akbarali and family , the brand ASU was born, marking a new chapter in our journey.
